As you know, the YMCA seeks to provide people of every race, belief, or social status the opportunities of personal growth and development as well as family and social development. It is for this reason that in 2003 the YMCA Temuco established partnerships with the YMCA of Saint Louis USA and the ACM in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Thus opening a new gateway to improvement and growth through mutual cooperation.

In 2007 Rodhia Herrera, the General Secretary of YMCA Temuco, signed an agreement that became the official recruitment program for the International Camp Counselor Program, which is sponsored by the YMCA in New York. Through thes agreement, they are establishing a series of steps in relation to a complex application process, which should be directory monitored and guided by the recruiter for the selection and subsequent shipment of participants representing YMCA Temuco. These participants will work as Camp Counselors in specific camps selected by the YMCA New York.

This plan was successfully carried out in which a participant of our Association was sent to participate in this program and was evaluated as being outstanding. The management performed by the YMCA Temuco is considered successful by the International YMCA.


The completion of this process, which allows activave feedback regarding new comcepts, knowledge, and culture motivates, the need to generate a specific area which is focused on the promotion and development of exchange programas that carry the underlying values each YMCA possesses: responsibility, honesty, care, and respect.
